In 2016, the BACK MOUNTAIN BLOOMERS GARDEN CLUB (BMBGC) organized a Community Grants Committee and used a portion from each member’s membership fee to provide grants to local community projects that fulfilled the mission statement of the BMBGC. By 2019, the Community Grants Committee became the Community Improvement Committee and in 2022 the committee was renamed the Community Outreach Committee. The Community Outreach Committee reviews requests and provides small grants as seed money for projects that support the club's purposes to advance gardening interests and knowledge, beautify the community, and preserve our natural resources. The committee also considers requests for non-financial assistance and makes recommendations to the club or referrals to other more appropriate organizations. Some of the recipients and their projects are shown below. Click here to learn more.
